    Default Z10 name debate...with a twist

This isn't another "how do you pronounce it" thread. That debate has been well covered, and it's pretty much been established that here in the US it's zee 10, and our good friends to the north say zed 10. My question is about typing it out. I've seen a handful of people put "Zed10", as opposed to "Z10". I don't plan on ever writing "Zee10". Unless you're phonetically spelling it like that for good reason, why alter the given name of the device?

It's Z(ee)10. Kevin has spoketh this already. And they're altering it because they're insecure.

So after a quick search, I figured out that I just wasn't paying close enough attention. There are a handful of mentions of Zed10 like I thought...but it is primarily the same guy doing it. So, I digress... There is no debate

Choosing a single letter that is pronounced differently in their major markets still seems like such a stupid idea to me, especially when there were better options such as L10 or perhaps T10 for this model.
