I am 16 and know 2 other Z10 users. The others are not interested in BB at all though. They stick to their very innovative iOS.

My storm 2 was actually a hand-me-down from my elder brother, who's currently rocking a Z10 (hee hee hee, he's so jealous of my z30), and it is STILL functional, even though its nearing its sad end.

I'm 19. My first phone was Nokia 700 and 2 months back bought a BlackBerry 10. The only person in my circle to buy it. I love it a lot. First thought of buying jolla then my focus shifted to z10. It's a shame that none of friends know that BlackBerry has a touch screen phone until I bought my phone.

I'm 17, I love my BlackBerry and actually been showing my friends it. They find it really cool

A couple actually say they would consider getting it.

I'm trying to save money to buy another one. To lend people so they can actually see how it feels to use it better.

    More of the same:

I'm 21. From Florida and go to college in Georgia. I'm only one of a very small few that I know uses BlackBerry. My smartphone history is Windows Mobile 6, Bold 9700, Android, Bold 9900, Z10; so I've tried other things also but am completely satisfied with BB10.

Though, I think it is important to note that WP7/8/8.1 is completely non-existent from my social network, as far as I know anyways.

Let me correct what I said, I meant to say no one in that age group for BlackBerry 10 devices. There are legacy users.

I'm 18 and rocking a q5. I said enough was enough when they said no bb10 update for playbook and sold loads of my old blackberrys and bought an iphone instead.

I was getting bored of android (always carry around two phones with me) and saw a Q5 for sale for 99 so bought that and ditched the android. I keep my iphone around for internet browsing and apps and the blackberry for messaging.

There used to be so many teens using blackberry in UK but the fact that all the 9700/80s 8520/9300 that people were using kept breaking with white screens and broken trackpads, they just all changed to iphone and it's been a lot more reliable for most people.

A lot of people also think blackberry are unreliable because of that bis outage in 2011 and people won't touch another blackberry as a result.

BlackBerry doesn't have a youth audience worth commenting about. I almost had a few friends convinced of BB10 but they eventually went with Apple again. I'm 23 and the only person I know that uses a BB device. My first was the Storm, then Tour, then Bold 9930, Z10 and Q10. I've been on iOS for some time but just prefer BB. Apple captivated everyone with all touch-screen devices and a rich app ecosystem and I think that's what initially pulled people away. The biggest thing that pulls me towards Apple today however is iMessage (since everyone I know uses it), and seamless iTunes and iCloud integration, just makes life easier. Still rocking the Z10 however.

My son has had a BlackBerry as his first smartphone, which was the Z10. He has the Motion now and still loves BlackBerry. His sister moved from a Z10 to Samsungs and they have not been as durable as his BlackBerry. She has dropped and cracked 3 phones now, all with cases and screen protector. And he loves the Hub.

Kind of puts things in perspective when you put it that way. By comparison I was a geezer (41 years old) when I bought my first smartphone, a BlackBerry 8820.

Hey! I was wondering if BlackBerry has young fans, I see everyone talking about how much they love their iphones and Androids, but I haven't seen a lot of BlackBerry love lately.

I don't think the: "It's because BlackBerry is a tool and not for kids" is a good answer

What are your thoughts about this?

Because people from the 1990s remember the struggle with typing text messages.... It used to be three letters per button which took FOR-E-V-E-R-. If you were a pager kid you had to use codes because beepers or pagers didn't have much space you could type "143" for -I LOVE YOU- or "911" which meant call me back QUIIIICK I have something to tell you right away. Or "411" juicy information get back to me right away.... Then things got easier with AOL (AIM) Yahoo (YIM) or ICQ/Mirablis. Then came the NexTEL *CHRIP* walkie talkies where you didn't have to type. NOW you can just read your instructions to your phone and it types it for you and tell it to "hit send" or "hit enter" and the message is off and running. Back in the 1990s to type a sentence typing using the letters was a chore so a keyboard was a welcome choice. If you didn't face the other stuff keyboard might seem slower rather than saying "Siri send message to Mary." and just start talking.

Wow I used to love my Nextel phone. I remember they were really popular among building and construction workers and a girl I was dating (whom I'm still married to) father owned a company where they deployed Nextel phones. I remember getting one and then my whole family getting one and we would use the walkie talkie feature non stop. I really wish someone would come back with that, it was such a great feature.
