I have been using BlackBerry 8320 for a long time. But today suddenly my Yahoo email stopped working on my BlackBerry. It will always say that email id or password is not correct. But its correct as I can login to Yahoo web mail.
Things that I tried to do my self.
1> Tried to validate by typing the password again and again from the phone.
2>Deleting the account and trying to add it again from the phone.
3>Changed password from web mail and try to add the account from phone.
4>Tried to add it from computer (going to operator name dot blackberry dot com)
5>Went to Yahoo settings in "Manage Apps and Website Connections" I removed "Yahoo! Mail for RIM/BlackBerry" and then tried adding the email account to my BB both from phone and computer
6>Called the service provider they could not help much except saying me to try to add email from web portal via computer.
But none of this worked.
(And yes I did try to battery pull)
Can anyone let me know what more can be done, or why I am having this problem?
I even searched the internet and found a KB article in BB site , Article ID: KB13799 that did no help either.
That's odd - I had a similar problem , by on my own mail server. So I deleted the account on the PlayBook, re-entered the details, still no luck. Then I re-entered the account as an IMAP instead of a POP3, and it all started working again. Nothing had changed on the mail server or the PlayBook so I suspect Blackberry..
Mine is acting up again, right after I did the new OD upgrade.
It did this before, I just (fairly impatiently) waited a couple of hours, and it worked fine.
I still could not find any answer, I looked through the sea of search results but no solutions yet. Hope someone posts the solution. Few other post that reported similar problems all dates back a long time and are dead.
Did Yahoo stopped email@yahoo dot com support on BlackBerry in South East Asia, for free Yahoo Mail accounts ? I cant possibly think of any reason why is it happening.
I have the 9800 torch and my sbcglobal email which is yahoo also stopped working recently. I went in and reset it online and on the phone. I get the messages in the message folder but I do not have my Sbcglobal folder any more. I figure at this point it is not worth messing with because "coming soon" will be the Z10 and I can just live with looking in the message folder for the emails until then.
I'm not sure about the Yahoo issue although there has been news recently that they are not allowing any employees to use BlackBerry. As far as the Hotmail is concerned, I thought I got a message a while back stating that this was changing to outlook but I am not 100% sure.

Ok, so are they blocking BB...interesting. They also recently announced that they will stop the BB apps.
