Given that we now know some facts (but not all the facts) about Passport and we sort of know the rumored specs about the iPhone 6, would you be willing to buy the Passport at the equivalent price as the iPhone 6 when both phones launch in a few months?
Assume that the iPhone 6 sells for above $799 unsubsidized.

Personally, I would buy the Passport at the same retail price as iPhone 6 because of the purported "revolutionary keyboard ".

799? no. why 799? 599 would be the norm. And no I would not spend 599 for it either since im not a keyboard guy

I would pay about $800 for the iPhone, and about $600 for the Passport. I have to take resale value into account. I have sold many iPhones with each upgrade, and the resale value is consistently very good. So this reduces the actual total cost of the iPhone quite a bit.

I wouldn't even pay 800 for an iPhone. I refuse to pay for the brand, and will always do. I would pay 800 for a Note 3, an Xperia Z Ultra, etc, with internals and size to justify the price.

No way. When you buy an iPhone 6, you are also buying into a mature native ecosystem with predictable future and you are buying from a company that has no existential crisis. Same cannot be said about BlackBerry.

I wouldn't dare pay that much for a phone. That's why I'm stuck with my Z10.
Phones are unreliable and prone to mishaps. Shouldn't invest too much on phones except one can insure them.

With the iPhone you also get the Apple store, which means almost anywhere I go I can go and get service that isn't from some crappy carrier store. That to me is worth an extra $100 in price.

I always wait 5 or 6 months before I buy a flagship. Always a good feeling when I purchase it at 40% less. Besides, let the early buyers find the kinks and negatives about the phone before I make the decision to buy it.

Matured ecosystem? All you really paying for is the accessibility of many apps.

Accessibility of many apps is what a mature ecosystem provides and all those apps are native for iOS. I fully sympathize with the need to profit from BlackBerry, but BlackBerry is simply in no position to charge a premium the way Apple does.

How I do agree with you and it's a great point I personally would give the same or even a little more for the Passport. The multi tasking the BlackBerry offers is worth something to me that is hard to put a price on. As far as someone above on resale value, (a very valid point) that doesn't concern me as I pass my old phone to an employee since I provide them all a BlackBerry. Interesting post
