What if in September RIM were to release a BB10 OS ready phone with 1 gig of ram, 16 gig storage, front facing cam, dual or quad core pros, but with os 7.1 on it, and come January - march it would be able to upgrade to os 2, i think that would be a good move i think for one it would make running os 7.1 alot easier and it would hold rim customers into next year and im sure some app developers would try and take advantage of the hardware since, rim is having problems in getting the software for bb10 ready in time. What do you guys think?

Makes no difference to me, I just came back from iPhone two weeks ago specifically for the 9900. I have no intentions of getting a BB10 phone. (And no, I'm not a newb. See my sig. Veteran BB fangirl, dabbles in dev.)

I would pass on it. Many thought that the Os 7 devices would hold customers over til Bb10. We see how that turned out. I'd rather wait til they release a high powered touchscreen device that can compete with iOS/android.

An easy pass. There have already been one too many promises as to BB10. Time to actually deliver without hold overs and promises.

I would pass. I already have three OS 7.1 devices, and I don't need another.

No. The bigger story with BB10 and what will make or break it is whether a lot of the big name apps appear. If not then you would maybe want to save your money.

No flippin' way. That would just give RIM more reasons to delay the thing, and then I'll be stuck with an OS that no one is really developing for. I'm holding on for BB10, that's the only thing that keeping me with BB at the moment.

No. I would need specific apps that are not available.

Skip! Those specs are barely better than mine. In fact I have a 32GB card in my phone so that would be a step back.

Too much are made of the dual core, quad core specs. Has anyone figured out a single practical way to utilize the multiple processor features on a phone? No? Then why are so many obsessed with that? Other specs may matter, don't get me wrong, but currently and in the near future the multi-processor crap doesn't matter.

And to answer the question, I am in the early parts of my contract with my Bold 9900 so no BB10 device, Android, Windows, or iPhone would sway me at the moment, I am very happy with the Bold 9900...

Could I live without a multi-core device? Yep.

Am I happy I have one? Yep. The difference is tangible.

Pass for me. I've had my 9930 since November and I plan to use it till it shows me that it's nearing the end of it's life. Then all the bugs should be ironed out of BB10 if there are any.

I would rather they got it all right , BB10 and all , before releasing it. Getting a BB10 capable phone with BB7 internals makes it look gimped from a software perspective.

Get BB10 phones ready to ship in 2013, within the first few months, just in time for my upgrade, that's all I ask from RIM.
