Using Blackberry Curve 8310 GPS with Google Maps | Matthias Zeller Memento

I used to have an 8330, it used the cellphone tower triangulation method.

It is inaccurate and I disliked it. As a housecall repairman the GPS on the storm is a huge luxury to me, it has amazing accuracy with google maps.

However, everything else about the storm makes me miserable. I miss my rock solid, reliable curve.

I was thinking of going curve again. is there a way to do this on Verizon, while keeping my GPS with google maps? I have no desire to use VZ Navigator.

No, the procedure you reference will not work on a Verizon 8330 to enable the internal GPS for use with Google Maps. However, if you are running OS 4.5, you can use BBMaps with the internal GPS. It's a free alternative to VZNav, and is the ONLY app that can use the internal GPS in a Verizon 8330, other than VZNav.
