Default Will we ever see the torch on Sprint or Verizon?

Okay, so I've started playing on my brother's Torch (The BB with a slide keyboard) and I thought it's actually great! Though for some reason it's only available on GSM services like failT&T and T -Mobile.

Will the torch make an appearance with a keyboard? or can we kiss it good bye? what do you guys think?

I am loving my curve by the way.

Wrong Torch. The OP is talking about the 9810, the 9850 all touchscreen Torch is the one that was available on VZW and Sprint.

To the OP, no, you will not see that model on either Verizon or Sprint. It is a GSM only device (ATT & TMO) and will not run on the VZW or Sprint CDMA networks. Sorry.

Seems certain phones pertain to certain cell technologies. Lucky you cdma guys got the style and storm. Us gsm folk get the 9000,9700,9800 and 9810.

Gsm is a worldwide technology where as cdma is a US only type of technology. Since rim's worldwide they tend to favor the gsm side of things for obvious reasons.

I don't understand why they don't make all their phones for both GSM and CDMA networks. Whatever the radio differences are, they couldn't physically be too different. Like with the 9860/9850 and the 9900/9930 and all the full qwerty Curves that have been released. I love my 9810 on T-Mobile, and it's a shame that people in Verizon and Sprint will never get to experience one of the best BlackBerrys I've ever owned.

Cdma radios are more power hungry than gsm,s and from what I've read around here they are larger in size.

It may have changed but that's the last I heard around here. Lol

There still shouldn't be much of a difference though. Tthe iPhone is on both cdma and gsm networks without any issues. The same should be BlackBerry smartphones. I think that if RIM released 4 models and had them available on every carrier, they would sell more smartphones. We should have the BB Bold, BB Touch, BB Slide, and BB Curve.

The networks decide which devices they wish to sell. If Verizon doesn't request a compatible device it doesn't even get designed.

Too Bad AT&T still Holds the rights to the Torch slider design.
T-mobile was able to get a big batch of 9810 when they were
going to merge together. I believe they still have some left over
from this deal, but rather expensive.
Same way they tried to keep the iPhone exclusively for them.
If the Torch-Slider would have been release on all Major carriers
I believe more people would of still been on Blackberry.
The bad Battery life, smaller screen, early bricking issues and bad camera
didn't help RIM in setting the Bold 99XX as their Flagship phone for
    all carriers.
