I have heard different things if you do a device wipe its not cleared but if some steals your phone and enters wrong password 3 times it will wipe card.

Anyone have solid words on how this works?

What if I turn encryption for the card? When it resets (say they wipe) will they be able to read it then? Esp if its set to "same as device".

It won't wipe the card, but since the data will be encrypted with a key that no longer exists, the data won't be readable.

simple solution, remove the memory card then wipe the device, no worries then...

I'll remember to ask the guy that steals my phone to remove the memory card and send it to me first.
