 it's never been an issue for me. Not sure they could make it headless within the memory requirement.

My wife got one of those silly smart watches for her Samsung Note II (and now IV), and folks are going ga-ga over the Apple Watch, but frankly I don't see the draw. The things have terrible battery life, you can't immerse in water with most of them, and you have to shake them or activate them to see the time.

Meanwhile, my trusty G-Shock has been through a tour in Iraq with me, is on its second watch band, has been very reliable, and not once have I had to change the battery. If I need something smart, I pull the Q-10 from my pocket.

Y'all can keep those silly smart watches.

I heard that back when the BlackBerry was becoming big... "email on my phone, why would I want that?"

I think we are looking at GEN1 (at least from Apple), give it a few years and who know what that might be able to do with them. Personally I've never been big on watches, the minute I had a pager I stopped wearing a watch...

I know many are questioning the sense of a smartwatch but BlackBerry really needs to catch up on that. The iPad has created a whole new market after people were skeptical.

It is not headless, but it is really not a big deal. And you will get used to it after a while.

You could also keep other apps open In the active frame.

The calendar for instance, shows your next appointment as well as the date in the active frame.

Passport, using Pebble Time, also have original Pebble, and Pebble Steel. Running T2Wpro and a cool app called Hub2Watch. You can use other apps like smartwatch companion to run other stuff.. Works great!

Um yeah, I'm a huge fan of smart watches... had the impulse with my Bold 9900 and loved it. Wish there was a native app for Pebble or others, just something about knowing there's full support for the platform BY the manufacturer. I'm sure the 3rd party apps to get pebble operable work, but I need 2 apps???

I think we need BlackBerry become more proactive and pull a Microsoft and build their own to show its possible. I know many who rock a BlackBerry that would also want a BlackBerry Watch, it's a cleaner way to quickly check incoming comm's, bottom line.

Anyone have any experience with bb10 compatibility with Sony smartband talk ? The smart band talk has call functionality from the watch. Compatibility with these wearables are really going to be important going forward.

From what I've read on the forums, it seems Pebbles are the only smartwatches compatible with BB10.

Is the a difference in performance & experience between the different Pebble models? Or do you get the same across all devices?

You got calls to work on the gear with BB10? How? I got Bluetooth to connect for transferring files, but that's it. It doesn't work for notifications or for calls or internet.

If you got those working, please let me know how.

PS: I have it rooted with null installed:

Nevermind, calls are coming through it and I can make them from the gear. I just hadn't noticed.

No email or text or other notifications are coming through, but that's expected.

The new os on the PEBBLE TIME watches is a bit different due to the color screen. The functions have a floating effect like aero. And the menu system is also improved. You can now install animated watchfaces as well with the new imroved Pebble os. I've been using a Pebble Time Steel now for about a two weeks, an upgrade from the original Pebble Steel smartwatch.
I really like the new Pebble time steel watches. The larger battery and color screen really makes downloading the new color watch faces really cool.
