Default Will IT Policy transfer if I use Switch Device Wizard?

I work for a carrier and have a Blackberry Curve 8310 as a company use phone. I had a BES account going to it which of course added certain restrictions through the IT policy (requires a password, requires a firewall enabled, etc.). Even though I've removed the service, these restrictions are still in place (and my IT team tells me that once it is on there it can't be removed). I'm going to be purchasing a Curve 8320 as a personal phone and want to use the Switch Device Wizard to back up contacts, settings and some third party apps onto the personal phone. My question is: Will these restrictions transfer onto the new phone if I use the Switch Device Wizard? (I don't want to be stuck with these settings on a personal phone.)

The IT policy can be removed. It will wipe your device to do this however. If you do an advanced backup/restore to switch only what you want and the IT policy will not be transferred to the device.

Make sure you do a backup first before removing the IT policy. As long as you dont have your DM connected to your corp network (and you dont hit the "yes" button when it prompts to switch the PIN on the BES) you shouldnt have a problem.
