Hi,
What I want to do is take my microSD card put it in the adapter and insert it into the slot in my laptop to copy the pictures and video onto the computer. My computer says that it needs to format the card. Will all of the data be lost?

Yes. If you format the card in your PC, you will lose all the data that's on it.

As stated, your data will be lost if you format the card.

Leave the SD car in your phone, enable mass storage mode on your Curve and connect to your pc. Your SD card should show up as a new disk. Open it and copy the files from it that way. Not sure why your pc wants to format your SD card, are you sure your data is actually stored there?
