Hello crackberry simple question my bold 9780 contract is up in December or January and I don't really want a BB10 phone so will the 9720 be available in north america?

    Thanks guys

I'd say the chances are slim considering we haven't even seen the Q5. You should just get the Bold 9900 then. The 9900 will still be superior in probably every way to the 9720.

This won't be a popular opinion on crackberry.com, but I'm definitely go with the Lumia 920 in that comparison. (Comparing the Lumia 920 and a BB10 smartphone would be a more fair comparison.)

Bringing it to America would be a bad strategy idea so I would say no. But by then, I'm sure there will be more high end Windows Phone devices too. Just wondering, why don't you want BB10?

If those are your two (2) choices take a look at these side by side comparisons. If you decide to go with the 9900 I am going to seek to have you committed

You can get a 9900 off contract cheap though. Lumia is definitely faster but you can't compare 2 totally different priced products without taking price into consideration.

Right. Obviously, right now the 99x0 is pretty much a low end phone. The Lumia 920 right now is a mid-high end phone which will be mid by the time OP's upgrade is due and the 99x0 will be completely obsolete. But good luck with your decisions OP and I hope you are happy with whatever phone you choose.

A phone is never obsolete unless the owner's needs in a phone change. If they don't that would make a more modern phone overkill, like driving an 4X4 in a city.

Haha I chose those the 9900 because I love the traditional blackberries (been using them since the old curves) , I chose the 920 because I do realize how outdated the 9900 is and I dont really want to go with android, plus I like the title interface wp8 has.

btw don't book me a room yet Im leaning towards the 920
