    HI All,

I have a Blackberry Bold. I've been trying to connect it to my home wifi and it simply will not connect. I keep getting a 'failed to associate with network' message.

The signal is strong, the password is correct, but there is something preventing it from connecting. I've put the phone's MAC in the safe list, tried restarting the phone, restarting the modem, and everything else suggesting in the forum posts I can find on the topic and I'm simply running out of ideas.

Can anyone help? I'm desperate. The modem is a Linksys WAG54G2.

    Thank you,
    Isy

just to make a test, have you tried to disable wifi protection?.
Perhaps is a wifi security problem like using WPA-* or something like that.
Try it without security and if it does connect then is a problem with wifi password protection.

It definetly sounds like a security issue. Does the router try to asign an IP address to the phone with DHCP? Make sure that you have it enabled in your Router.

    Hi guys,

    Thanks so much for replying!

I will try turning off the password protection when I get home.

But i don't understand the second suggestion: "Does the router try to asign an IP address to the phone with DHCP? Make sure that you have it enabled in your Router."

    How do I do that?

    Cheers,
    Isy
