I just added a wireless router to my cable modem at home. When I turn the WIFI on on my Torch can I still leave my regular connection on also and will the data usage automatically go over the WIFI and not count against my Data Plan?

Yes, your wifi will always be the priority for the connection. Although it will drain your battery a fair bit if you have no wifi connection available and its still on

However with wifi on and connected. You actually save a bit of battery.

That is true. So it may make up for some lost battery life

Thanks to everyone on such fast response. That worked out well. My data plan is with AT&T so I called them last week and asked about adding wifi. They sent me a wireless router for just the shipping charge (9.99) and no additional fees.
