Is there a way, or app, to show on the home screen when a wireless network/hotspot is available, rather than initiating a network scan?

The wifi logo will be lit up instead of dim. That's how u know. Also, if you have already saved the network, it will connect automatically.

I don't think that's what BigwhiteUK wants. I presume he/she wants to automatically detect any wireless network once it's within range without having to manually scan for the network. I'd also like an app for this. I highly doubt there's any tho.
