    I really wondered this, it would be better if the shift on the right was a caps key.

    It is. Press Alt, then right shift for caps. Press right shift again to disengage.

    True, but why sacrifice a thumb for multiple capitalized letters?

    You could long press the letter key and it will capitalize it

    True again, but try typing words in all caps, model/product names, SKU's, etc that way. Then try doing it by holding Alt and locking caps with the right shift. That's what it's there for. Same with left shift number lock.
