Whenever I connect my PP to my laptop via usb, the slightest movement of the cable disconnects the cable. By this, I mean, link would always restart.

Here'w how I do it:
1. I have my link start whenever i connect my phone via usb. I just close the BB Link if I don't need it.

2. The slightest movement of the laptop or the cable restarts BB Link. This is how I know that i get disconnected.

3. Doing a backup becomes a pain.

I'm sure the usb port and cable is good.

This happened with my old mac and i just had to make a clean reinstall of the BB Link. I'm hoping I can get the same fix this time but cant find the article on how to make a clean re-install of BB Link on mac. ( i got a macbook air early 2015)

If you've already ruled out the port on the computer and the cable, then the port on the Passport itself might be the weakest link.

tried that also and it works fine while doing file transfers. you move the phone while doing file transfer and the link restarts without disrupting the file transfer, weird i know
