    Hi,

I have a user who had a Blackberry 9900 from AT&T that would randomly restart while she was on a call. It was always when she was on a call and happened in many different locations. We gave her a new phone, new battery, everything and the problem has followed her to the new 9900. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Also she has used Blackberry's for years so she is a pretty smart blackberry user so I don't think its anything she is doing accidentally.

    Thanks

She could try a couple of things.

Either Update or reload the devices software using Desktop Manager.
    www.blackberry.com/desktop

Make sure her internal memory isn't to low and remove any un-used Apps from the device.

Make sure the is a SD card in the device and all media, photos, videos, music, documents etc etc is saved to the card.

Make sure the Network connections! Are set right, use 3G & 2G, then it can switch between during call if needed.

Clear the Cache/History in the Browser after use and any other Apps that have a Cache.

Clean the Event Log when needed, by holding alt and pressing LGLG then options and clear log. This will free up space and help the device run smoother.

These Legacy devices need maintenance unlike the new BB10. If she still has problems, then maybe offer her a Q10, Passport, Classic.

Thanks I will give that a try. We cant use the new Blackberry devices because Mobile Iron is dropping support. And actually we are trying to get all of our users off of Blackberry but have a few VIP holdouts. We are trying to deactivate our BES's as soon as possible.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

If the company you work for is using BES, you'll be aware that BES 12 supports iPhone & Android devices as well as BlackBerry 10 smartphones. Plus you won't get a more secure EMM than BES.
