I may be stating the obvious, but BlackBerry is designed and optimized for use in the Corporate World where $$$ is everything.

The dollar sign is very, very convinient to me.

Want a period? Type two spaces after the sentence. All it takes.

A BlackBerry was meant for business users.

    A Business runs on money-

Thus $$$ would come up very often.

Seems to make sense to me.

The storm has a period in the QWERTY keyboard, but not on the numeric keypad. So you can't type decimal values for dollar amounts without swapping back to the QWERTY keyboard.
