My issue is all the steps to sideload if it's compatible it's compatible right?

Back in my Sega days basically it had region lockouts so if it was a good Japanese game you wanted to try you had to get a cartridge (app) to be able to use the games. Yes it was basically same hardware with a region lockout but same idea kinda sorta.

Isn't bb10 just android with a custom rom, and kernel (basic assessment)?

What was preventing bb10 from using Google Play was bbry themselves. All bbry had to do was seek licensing from Google to use the Google Play trademark.
