Why? This isn't news.

The only OEM making money off Android is Samsung. (maybe LG now? I could be wrong)

Apple is making money. I don't think any other OEM is actually making money in their mobile division, maybe a few Chinese companies like Huawei.

Even Blackberry is losing money, although I DO believe they should keep going with BB10. Switching to Android is suicide. Yes they may gain some sales from another demographic, but it doesn't make sense.

The move to android is for apps, which sure, people want, but it goes against their vision, which is dumb, they can't survive on enterprise alone, sure. But the consumer doesn't give a damn about Blackberry.

At least if they stick with and develop BB10, they have a product for enterprise and a few small consumer markets.

Switching to Android will make it so a few people may be interested in android with physical keyboard, but all their enterprise clients will switch to Samsung or apple, leaving Blackberry in charge of software only, which is apparently their real goal.

So, yeah. Sucks for Sony. But they can keep making parts for other mobile companies.
