    Does not work in Alaska.
Maybe in PARTS of Alaska it will not find coverage.

I wish BBRY sold a stubby antennae accessory so I don't have to deal with a dangling earbud cable which I normally have no use for anyway.

Wont work in Haines without cell data. Doubt is 5% of Alaska has FM radio coverage regardless of what u want to listen with.

I did and still got the message "No Headphones". I think that the buds need to be replaced with a small low ohm resister to complete the circuit (well it's a theory). Still a stubby little antennae with a 3.5 mm jack would be a great accessory for BBRY to sell. Maybe Crackberry should import some from China and test the market.

It is a cellular phone with a FM radio tuner. Not an FM radio with a cellular antenna.

This is sort of like saying "why does my car require a key in order to listen to the radio? Any $10 radio will work without a key!"

The sound quality on the BB10 is quite horrible when plugged into a stereo.

I beg to differ. I use mine in my car to play music and it sounds just fine.

Ah bummer. However, I'm sure somebody in Canada sells it, or will ship there.

True. But in fairness to the OP he's got a point, it worked on BBOS7 devices, why not on BB10? I can't test it personally as I'm not near anyplace with no cell reception.

BBOS was always connected to BIS if I remember right, it can't be turned off unless you were never connected to one?

Looks OK, I prefer to just use my earbuds as I only listen to the radio when I'm tired of the music on my phone. Does it think earbuds are plugged in when you plug the antenna in?

Lol yeah. I just didn't bother to think about it much. I was just pointing out that he didn't need to rely upon BBRY to sell what he was looking for.

My 9320 iPod is now sim free and has no need for any data for radio to work. BBOS radio is simple and normal.
If the radio is just a bonus, how would you feel if the camera would only work when a SIM card and data are active. BTW, we pay 65 dollars for 7 GB of WiFi and 30 dollars for 1 GB of cell data. Streaming radio is not an option.

Your carrier makes you pay for wifi data as well as cell data? Never heard of such a thing.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume his reference to WiFi is that he pays his carrier for a WiFi head-unit/Jetpack to provide regular in house Internet access because he lives out in the boonies with no cable access.

I'm glad I don't live in a place or country, yet, that charges for home service by the GB! I'm sure it's coming though.
