Who's taking the day off work Jan. 30th ?
I happen to have the week off (moving offices) so luckily I'll have the whole day to watch the action unfold.
Is anybody here taking the 30th off specifically to watch the big launch?RIM is dead. Long live BlackBerry! - 01-17-2013, 10:50 PM #2
I'll probably..........telecommute that day

If there's going to be a meet up, I'll be where the action is..... if not, I'll be streaming the launch at my place, in between work (I work from home) and will offer up the small space I have for anyone that wants to come.

The launch is only the official press about the new device(s), right?
...People still can't buy them until March or April, right?A reluctant iPhone 4s user who would STILL be a Blackberry user had RIM not messed it's own bed by putting a "Fisher Price Camera" in it's "flagship" Blackberry Bold 9930. - 01-17-2013, 11:17 PM #10
Not work, but it's the second week of classes and I happen to have Organic Chemistry scheduled at 10 AM that day. Thinking about skipping it and following a live stream (hopefully) from my university's tech lounge.

I'll be checking in periodically on CrackBerry that day to keep track of things

Yep, but we were promised a few surprises by Mr. Heins at BlackBerry World and at BlackBerry Jam Americas. Also, we'll get a glimpse of the X10 and maybe a few other new devices like a new or refreshed PlayBook (or an entirely new tablet).
But availability is what I'm really looking for. Besides, I've been waiting a long time to see RIM on a high note and while BB World and BB Jam were close, this will be major! For everyone that stood by RIM throughout these troubling years, January 30th is for them! - 01-17-2013, 11:41 PM #18
I'll monitor CrackBerry, and call it good. Work as usual, alas.

Hmmm... if I got invited to a launch event (um, I could probably make either TO or NY... hint, hint if anyone's out there who could make that happen
), sure, but otherwise I can sneak the odd peek from my desk.

Since meet up points are hard to come by, should any locals want to drop by my place, pm me your pin, It won't be lavish, but could be fun.

I'm definitely watching. Will be posting updates to the tech blog I contribute to.
I have a question (major one for me) if y'all don't mind: does BB10 need Desktop Manager, or can I forego it? Anyone now at this point? - 01-18-2013, 01:04 AM #24Phones:
