It is not unusual for me to look at my BB and see the data arrows indicating that data is coming and going without any input from me. I have a Curve 8330 on USCC. Any idea what this is? Is my phone arranginfg a clandestine affair with a sexy Berry from across the tracks or is USCC gathering usage info etc.?
I notice this alot as well. I then go through all my current open applications and exit them. I'm curious if there is a way to log all data going in/out to track down which application is having fun without my input.
I see this a lot too and have always thought is was just my phone pinging the network. I have only pocket express auto updating and that occurs when I sleep so no other apps other than the basic phone should be driving this, I think it is just the phone and network communicating.
Open up your wireless connection on your laptop wifi connection. Notice that packets are being sent back and forth despite you not doing anything at all? It is just communication back and forth essentially telling the network you are still there, and making sure the network is still there for your phone. HOw do you think something so simple as the single strength indicator works? Magic?
Blackberry's are designed to constantly check back with RIM's servers, and to constantly receive information from them. They do this very often on their own design.
This is why most providers REQUIRE you have a Blackberry plan to have a Blackberry because if the data is enabled your phone is constantly communicating with RIM's authentication servers and without a valid account it keeps hitting/rejecting/hitting/rejecting over and over.
That's your data arrows (on top of the usual application stuff)
So I found the mastermind behind all this, its Pineypl"s wife. Who hired the MMF to keep tabs on him and monitors the rest of us just in case we are contacted by him. So just in case we know anything it would be easier to find our location and subpeona us. AAAhhhaaa!!!!!
