    coming from the bold 9000 i used to have a symbol that actually said "wifi" on my home screen when activated. On the 9780 i can't find this symbol, however on the manage connections screen it shows i'm connected to a network...
    please help

    Its the small white symbol underneath antenna strength.

    kinda looks like the small dot growing in to a sideways (

    on the top right corner, it should say UMA if your connected to wifi
