So I'm real close to buying a bbry 10 and I keep waiting for these epic price drops everyone talks about. Seriously they aren't there. In the US the unlocked Q10 is still nearly $500 on Ebay. The Z10 is $350 and this is for a phone that is five months old! We've got the iPhone 5S breathing down its neck, the Z30 the most leaked phone in the history of phones (the darn thing seems fully operationally and available to every blogger on the planet and it still isn't even officially announced or even named) and reports of BBRY's demise. Why can't I buy a BBRY for cheap!

I think I'm going to wait for the announcement of the iPhone 5S and then buy the BBRY. If the Z30 comes out (and with the iPhone plus the resold older iPhones on the market) it should drive down the Q10 and the Z10. So I just need to wait until September 10 I figure. Maybe September 20 or so for the actual iPhone release.

Those are nice prices. But still, if things are so bad, why haven't those prices reached the mass market?

Why would you expect prices to drop so drastically? Sure the situation is dire but reducing to pricing as drastically as you think it should would hurt as well.

Well $350-$400 for a brand new factory unlocked Z10 is pretty sad...

Also on eBay, a used Z10 on eBay is probably going to be in the $200-$300 range. Maybe $350 at tops.

It is a sort of Catch-22 isn't it? Keep the pricing at it's current level and not a lot of people will bite because they think they're too high for what is offered. Drop the prices and people will think BlackBerry is fire-selling the devices leading to the belief that they are in even bigger trouble, which will also lead to people staying away.
