when did they release teh first bb device with a front facing cam?
Hi there, I am curious about a question, WHEN was the first black berry device WITH a front facing camera released?
(if possible a model num would be good).
Thanks. - 05-08-2012, 12:24 AM #2
Currently there are no blackberries with a front facing camera. Bb10 will be the first.

Why be confused??
To stay on topic of this thread, the OP asked about BlackBerry Devices and asked for model numbers.
Obviously, this means BlackBerry Handheld Devices as there are no model numbers for the PlayBook per se'.
Yes, it is called the BlackBerry PlayBook.
But who do you know (including RIM) that calls their PlayBook a BlackBerry Device?
Even those who know nothing about it calls it a BlackBerry PlayBook.
Not a BlackBerry Device.
That term is uniformly used to represent handheld devices.
Semantics game?

You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your effing smartphone.

As I said. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I already stated in a previous post, yes, that is technically correct.
That is a semantics game IMO. I have yet to see out of almost 3 million users here on CB refer to the PlayBook as a BlackBerry Device (including RIM).
That is not how people commonly refer to the PlayBook.
I'm also sure that the OP was asking about Handheld devices.MY TAKE ON THE BOLD 9900... I DON'T KNOW HOW, OR WHY, BUT IT WORKS!!!

So the word "device" now means "handheld device"? That's the case you're making?

Please read the thread totally in context.
I agree that everything with a BlackBerry logo is a BlackBerry device per se'.
Not sure how many times I have to say that.
I just have not found anyone, or any thread that refers to the unit as such.
That is not how the PlayBook is commonly referred to as. Do you disagree?
However, "device" is synonymous with handheld devices as seen many instances here in the forums.
BlackBerry PlayBook, or PlayBook is what I see in page after page of forum posts or blogs.

Holy crap, I'm sorry I even looked at this thread.

I believe this whole statement to be factually incorrect to be honest. It should read "BlackBerry Playbook released in 2011 with no known model number". By playing the semantic game you are just continuing the OP's confusion. Unless of course the Playbook was made by E-machines, Gateway or Dell.
