I have a Curve 8310 and have recently seen some of the external GPS Receivers that are being sold in the Crackberry store (one plugs into the cigarette lighter, one is on a keychain, etc...) what is the point of having one of those if the 8310 already has a GPS receiver built in?
Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see the benefit.
    Thanks,
    Blake

Verizon, for one, locks the internal gps so that if you want to use certain 3rd party software, you need a separate bluetooth gps unit. It also has terrific reception for gps.

They also can be used on a Blackberry that does not have GPS but has bluetooth.
