What's the difference between "PIN-ing" a contact and actually sending them a message (to their PIN) via BBM?

I ask because I PINned someone this morning and it shows up in my message list in red; it does not, however, also appear within my BBM chat list...

    Anyone? Thanks!

Your PIN is probably set to make PIN messages as Level 1, which makes them red to grab your immediate attention. And PIN messages are separate functions from BBM messages. PINs are a direct device-to-device email.

To change, open Messages>Menu>Options>General Options>Actions>Make PIN messages Level 1>No>Escape and save.

So PIN messages are closer to text messages, and they are sent to a BBM contact in e-mail form?

    Thank you both for clarifying.

No need to send it to a bbm contact. Only need the person's pin.

Pin is like berry to berry email. And ping is like the windows live messenger Wizz...
