So of lately I've been getting these random ads on what's app from shady company advertising products. Is anyone else experiencing this as well? I'm guessing this is what's to be expected from the fb takeover. Oddly enough as well of lately been getting these mails to my email that is associated with my fb, not the same mails but similar add. I've had this email for decades now and I'm very cautious in whom I gave it out to. But of lately in the few months been noticing a lot of junk mail coming in and I'm beginning to see a pattern.

I've been hit by it, too. A Whatsapp message from an unknown number advertising an online cash service. Time will tell for Whatsbook how long people will put up with this if it increases. There's a difference between not caring if unknown people have access to your phone number through whatsapp, and being spammed by advertisements through it. Maybe even the hard core "I don't care-ers" might start caring.

Yes it absolutely does happen. However being phone number based, all those ahole companies which already have you on a call list could easily spam whats app.

No adds within. Just as if someone was to add you on it. But it's spam or adds, you would see the phone number and the convo is about some product
