hey everyone i was just looking through all the past blackberry smartphones and i was wonderiong what the first blackberry was with a trackball personally i thought that the first blackberry with a trackball was the BlackBerry 8800 series. so instinctively i though i'll go right to the forums so if anyone could help me with this that would be great thx!

I belive the first was the Pearl, that is how it got it's name.

Definately the Pearl. This topic reminds me of how much RIM navigation system have evolved. They went from buttons to trackwheel to trackball, touchscreen and finally trackpad.

haha thx guys and yes i definitely agree with how the navigation systems have changed and i had a pearl but i got rid if it cuz the trackball stopped working sometimes
