And no, Bell does not support UMA yet.
I know Rogers and Wind do.

a question, i just talked to CS at tmo and the guy said since i am not a post paid customer my phone # will only work in usa, canada, mex, dominican and haiti. i would need to be a post paid customer or use a prepaid sim for coverage anywhere else. i asked him if i didnt have signal in a country not on his list could i use wifi/uma and he said no. i asked if he was certain and he said yes. i dont think he was sure about this. any ideas???

If you are already able to use UMA in the States, you should be able to use UMA anywhere. Just go into Manage Connections and set your connection preference to Wi-Fi Only. As long as the hotspot is on a reasonably fast broadband network and doesn't block IPSec packets, UMA should work.
