Hey, guys I had my bold9700 for 5 years and I also hope for another 5 years with my bb10 phones!
But I'm also thinking of a plan b.

I would never switch to android or iOS!

So the only options that are left is..

    Ubuntu
    And maybe Tizen

    What about you guys?
I would like to know what OS you would pick after the BlackBerry Era..

I would continue with iOS and Android but I would pick a Lumia for my third platform.

I have the Z10 and I'm probably just going to buy two Q10 smartphones on fire sale when that happens and live with BlackBerry 10 until all of them break. Only then will I switch to Windows Phone.

Even if they really go belly-up, there will always be vendors who sell BB OEM parts. As long as my 9900 is delivering emails, texts, and continues to be the great commo device that it was designed to be, I'll make repairs as needed. It's a communication tool. I don't use it for games, or serious web surfing.
If I had to choose, it wouldn't be a matter of "platform" as much as which specific device would hold up to my needs (strong radio, durable). Which in that case, I guess I would go back to a Motorola or Nokia device. Android or Windows, not that it really matters to me.

No doubt for me , back to Android of some kind. I don't even need the security provided by BlackBerry now as it is. I like the current hardware.

I wouldn't switch to anything; I hate apple/ios, google/android, and windows phone. I would continue to use a BlackBerry even if it was for talk and text only.

If BBRY really dies I would really buy a lot of BBRY phones. The OS (BB10) would continue to run even if BBRY dies.

/I still run XP and it goes EOL in April, I will be running it for years to come

Short term Android, longer term maybe WP. Microsoft has deep enough pockets & the ability to make WP rival Android. I see a smartphone that will soon be plugged into a docking station whilst at home becoming in effect a Chromebook or Windows laptop & a smartphone when outside.

Windows Phone. I love and use Windows Phone now so that's an easy choice. After that it would go iOS and then Android.

Logical choice to me is Windows Phone. It is an under appreciated platform. As you can tell by my name, I recently made the switch, but I am looking at this objectively.

The apps for the most part are there (especially for us former Blackberry Users), It is nearly as smooth as iOS, mildly customizable like Android, and there are some big dollars and capability behind it (Microsoft). Kinda a best of all worlds to me.

No More Android for me and I despise Apple (says the guy with a MacBook and Ipad Air) so I can't do the iphone.

I would just take care of the Z10 I have now and if it craps out get a new replacement Z10 or a Z30 cheap and keep BlackBerry alive.

But if that doesn't happen I hate to say it but I guess iOS or Windows never ever Android.

The point is that BlackBerry is burning money and if the next 3-4 Quarterly reports aren't showing some good numbers... BlackBerry will go down... and I'm curious who is switching to what OS if that happens... any questions dude?

Love your perseverance, I will stick with my Blackberry also until there is no more BB network in place but I would go with Android.... what the Heck this is the most improbable question, because Blackberries don't die they just multiply, Long Live the Berries.

If that ever happens, my plan b would be to stock up with several Q10's and a couple of Z30's download the latest leak available at that time and store them all, using my stash till it all finishes, then I'll go searching on ebay or something and if I absolutely can't get another Q10, then I'll use whatever is in the market at that time that gives me a similar experience, still keeping Android as my secondary phone. All in all, quite a few years from now, I tend to use a phone for upwards of two years (if a newer one doesn't come out and technolust sets in), so with my plan B, we're looking at a long time indeed!

Probably be either Android or iOS. I need certain apps that just aren't developed on any other platform.

Would love to see LG developing WebOS further (not just just for TV's) and produce some slick phones but I guess that's wishful thinking.
