Enjoy it, relax and take it all in. Although I sometimes have nightmares about school (tests mainly lol) the extra sleep in the morning is missed.
And all the changes you mention are happening in in 49 states so that kids don't get to far ahead or far behind if they happen to transfer schools in other states, etc.
What kind of changes are you noticing? - 08-30-2011, 04:39 PM #103
I wish I could get extra sleep I'm seriously lacking. I am ready to leave and be done with tests...but oh wait I still have college :P ha ha
As for the changes, I don't travel/move much so I can't compare personally but I've had plenty of people telling me how schools in different states are much easier or harder. I had one friend tell me todya at lunch about how georgia is so much easier then Nevada (She made a huge gesture with her hands showing one hand up high representing nevada and one hand down low representing Georgia.
Despite what she said the Georgia Curriculum is getting tougher and our schools are making some radical changes (such as completely removing the GHSGT (Georgia High School Graduation Tests) - 08-31-2011, 07:46 AM

I'm an in-house lawyer with an investment firm.
I use email and the calendar in a big way, as does pretty much everyone. I hardly ever use BBM because nearly all of my co-workers, friends and family have iphones.
I still feel like I have to have a physical keyboard and a swap-able battery. I have the type of job where I can't usually send one- or two-line emails - I have to do some typing. And the BB keyboard is so much faster than using an iphone. Re the battery, I travel enough that I'd have no confidence that an iphone would have power when I need it. The BB has longer battery life than an iphone or droid, and I also carry a spare battery or two with me, which has saved me many times.
I am a big fan of Quicklaunch because it makes using the BB so efficient, so it is probably my favorite add-on app.
I use evernote to sync my notes up with my computer and ipad. (BTW, I'm about the most anti-Apple person there is, but my company offered me a free ipad and I wasn't turning it down. The one weakness of the BB is reading/editing PDFs and that is one thing the ipad does very well.) I have Repligo Reader on my BB, because when I do need to open a PDF, it's the best BB PDF app that I've found.
I use BHive Tasks to keep track of my to-dos.
I use the Tripit app to help keep track of business trips (and vacations).
I love Podtrapper and use it to listen to work-related podcasts and also personal stuff.
I use SplashID to keep track of passwords and other sensitive info. I have it on all my PCs and my ipad as well.
Opera Mini is my web browser of choice. I tried the Torch when it first came out and my main complaint was that I hated the built-in browser, and Opera didn't work well on it. I returned it and went back to my 9700.
I use the kindle app because I can be reading a book on my ipad and then pick up where I left off on my BB.
The Bloomberg Mobile app is a great way to see what's going on in the markets.
Even though I have the ipad, I still use my Bold most of the time. The only time I reach for the ipad is when I have to read/mark up PDFs.
I also coach little league and use the Documents to Go spreadsheet app to manage the lineups. I have a shortcut to my spreadsheet set up in quicklaunch so it's always easy to access.
I'm stuck with AT&T since this is a work device, and I am hoping they get the 9900 soon. I'd love to try it. - 09-04-2011, 11:05 AM

whether it was rude or not is neither here nor there, but he has a point. I think half the posts in this thread are you saying "come on folks keep it coming". Your thread had its 2.5 minutes of fame, now let nature take its course.

Just a gigolo
everywhere I go
people know the part
I'm playing
Paid for every dance
selling each romance
every night some heart
betraying
There will come a day
youth will pass away
then what will they say
about me
When the end comes I know
they'll say just a gigolo
as life goes on
without me
'Cause I aint got nobody
nobody nobody cares for me
I'm so sad and lonely
sad and lonely sad and lonely
Won't some sweet mama
come and take a chance with me
cause I aint so bad
Get along with me babe,
been singin love songs
All of the time
Even only be, honey only, only be
Bop bozadee bozadee bop zitty bop
I ain't got nobody 'cept love songs in love
Hummala bebhuhla zeebuhla boobuhla
hummala bebhuhla zeebuhla bop
I ain't got nobody, nobody,
nobody cares for me
Nobody , nobody
I'm so sad and lonely,
sad and lonely,
sad and lonely,
Won't some sweet mama come
and take a chance with me
cause I aint so bad
Get along with me babe,
been singin love songs
All of the time
Even only be, honey only, only beoops...

I'm a cattle farmer and I run a grain elevator, and help a coupke farmers out.
My blackberrys are 8310,8520,9700,9800,and 9860.
My blackberrys help me keep track of calfing season and back grounding my calves. I buy and sell cattle from my tractor or truck on my blackberry. Either over phone, or thru email or txt. I pretty much leave my laptop in my office now.
At the grain elevator I load/unload trucks, railcars, and barges. My blackberrys keep my railcar and barge schedule straight. Plus I fax or email release information to the railcar and barge lines.
My blackberrys isn't all work and no play. On a long night I've been known to watch a movie on my phone or listen to music. I've even spent quite a bit of time here at CB while in the field.
