Haha to funny. I work for a school board and used to be in the field as a tech. my regional partner had his ringtone to "My girlfriends a **** magnet....". it was awesome the time he got a call while we were doing software installs in the library lab and a kindergarden class was on the carpet getting a story read to them. rofl
Me personally, my job is now the Email Administrator as well as Smartphone support. I honestly do not use my phone much for work now that I am central and camped at a computer all day, however email support is still my role and i dont get away from it on weekends and after work hours.
My BB is used primarily for email, which is why you will have to pull the 9900 keyboard from my dead hands. It owns all!
On the personal end of things I BBM/SMS frequently which comes back again to the keyboard. I owned a digital camera but never felt like taking it anywhere sincd i domt fancy having to carry a murse, therefor i use my phone a lot to take pictures. i do not really care about super high MPixels, i just need to capture a moment when it comes around, and my phone is always on hand. no auto focus is bumming me out but i honeslty have yet do test.myself though was frustrated at not being able to focus the bar code to pair my phone/playbook.
c
That about it. Dont use my phone for apps, games, or even really as a phone. Email,IM's, and convenient amera. - 08-14-2011, 08:12 AM

Work at a golf car shop building/servicing/fixing them. many times i wash a fleet of newly arrived E-Z-GO and Yamaha cars and i'd be lost without my MP3 collection (much MUCH easier to transfer music with a MicroSD card!) and of course Pandora

I'm a college student but during the school year I work with intramurals through Recreation Programs on campus. We always get our schedules e-mailed to us so if I ever forget when I work, have something come up for class, or need to check to see if I can go out some night it's handy to have all of my e-mails right there. We also get e-mails if we have to come in for a meeting on short notice in case someone got hurt, in a fight, or there was a roster-conflict (D1 athletes trying to play intramurals is a nightmare). Doesn't sound like much but it can get hectic during playoffs, some people are just way too competitive (I"m one of them
). A few of my coworkers have BlackBerry's too so it's nice that I can BBM them to see if they can cover a shift, if they're running late or if I'm running late, or if we forgot something for a special event.
All-in-all, I don't think I will ever have anything other than a BlackBerry, they're usefulness is unmatched if you ask me. - 08-15-2011, 08:43 AM

I'm rocking the 9700 on AT&T and as a career paramedic blackberry functions as a great phone and messaging tool for me. I've had every iteration of the iPhone but keep coming back. Wish there were some more worthy medical apps, but i never used them when i had the iPhone - if i come across something out of left field google works just fine after the job. Other than that, it helps me stay in touch with my buddies on other buses, the wifey and maybe the occasional BBM to a doc to discuss those scalp scratching presentations.
As far as a case, i've got this puppy wrapped up in a otterbox commuter - i've got enough crap on my belt as it is (radio, pager, narcs) thus the defender is just overkill for me!Last edited by RushTheBus; 08-18-2011 at 10:46 AM.

I am a self employed financial trader. Currencies / precious metals etc. I use my 9800 to receive news emails / signals quickly. The 'Blue' app for live prices aswell as live charts.
I also open and close trades with speed and ease when out of the office.
Blackberrys are great phones. I wouldn't move ship for anything else - 08-21-2011, 06:28 PM #75
This was quite similar to my situation when I got started with Blackberry. People would call my during my working day for speedy pickups and dispatch, and I didn't want to have to pull out my cellphone, or look for a parking spot to talk to them. Bluetooth handsfree wasn't really an option because I had to write information and orders down. Once I got everybody properly trained to EMAIL me at my BB address, I 1] never had to answer my phone while driving. 2] Got instant push emails with emergency pickup requests; 3] never had to decipher semi-intelligible voice messages 4] NEVER had to deal with being blamed for dispatchers' or customers' mistakes in their instructions, since I had it all recorded on my BB.
My current job isn't quite as critical for BB useage, but I'm used to the Blackberry way of doing things, and am very content.
As for cases... I generally use the original BB holster while I'm working...it goes on a microphone holder loop on my uniform shirt, or on a loop on my vest. On my own time, usually it's in a gel skin in my pocket, or an Otterbox Commuter shell if I'm doing something active.Last edited by DaveTheA; 08-21-2011 at 06:40 PM.

Just say NO to Android apps on the Playbook. If we settle for crappy ports or emulations, we'll never get GOOD, FULL FEATURED NATIVE apps for the Playbook...
