So I just learned today that you need to set the browser to hot spot for it to use wifi when browsing....what other programs do you have to do this or can you?
BBM?
EMAIL?
Those are the main two I have noticed. Some applications while in their set ups you will see data connection - auto - wifi - etc, and its always good to set them to wifi when enabled if there is an option so it will auto switch to it.
What does everyone do with berryweather and weather bug I see in berry wx there is a wifi option...does it revert to BIS-B,......whatever that is if there is no wifi??
You only need to set the Hotspot browser when you're in a Hotspot browser area. You'll have to log on to use it, ie. a stadium, hotel, airplane etc. If you're at home, or in a normal unsecure WiFi area, the regular browser should connect. You'll see WiFi instead of the 3G in the banner. All the apps that offer WiFi connection will switch to BIS when WiFi isn't present.

T-Mo has a WiFi preferred option, I don't know about VZW. I know on my at&t 9700 there isn't one. It just automatically uses WiFi if available.
WAPers do it With A Passion I'm many people's brother, have several BB daughters and sons, but I sure as heck ain't your momma! If everyone spoke Wulfanese, they wouldn't need to click here for a translation.

I do believe so. Trying to find info to back that up, but i have noticed when on Wi-fi things send and receive faster, So I do believe that wi-fi takes over
It's not always faster than 3G, and when 4G is out, may not ever be faster. Just depends on your data/WiFi connection which is better. Should if WiFi is enabled always connect though, but some OS have been more tempermental than others.
