They look very similar. The 8520 lacks 3g support if that's something you depend on. Be safe and get the 3g in my opinion.

I can tell you the 8530 has many problems
    Went through 3 of them
Then they sent me a 9330
    And its even worse
I would also recommend NOT dealing with verizon

I would personally opt for something in the 96/97 series if possible. You didn't mention which provider that this would be for, so until you do, you won't get much help I don't think.

Well if I had my choice I would get a bold 9780 or 9700 but if your pockets arnt deep enough like mine lol, the 9300 would be the better choice more memory and. unlike the 8520 will get blackberrys new os 6 don't get me wrong the 8520 is a decent phone you might get one free even, just know that you can't an won't get os 6 for the 8520 an that sux because the new os is really nice. You can still update the 8520 for how long I don't know check the crackberry forums there the experts I've learned a from these guys an you will to so check it out. .

Get the 9300, it is faster than the 8520. I had both and i definitely like the 9300 more.

I love my 9330. It has more memory and will have OS6 which the 8530 will not receive.

If you have the means, I highly recommend picking up a 9780.

It was only worse because it didn't have Paypal according to you. That's your problem.

9300 for certain as all points have been made.

If you can swing it though, try to get a 9780, which is basically the 9700 on steriods. Awesome phone, both of them!

All depends what carrier your on though.

Curve 3G, it's better than the 8520. Look at the specs: BlackBerry Curve 8520 - Full phone specifications BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 - Full phone specifications
