I tried 3 different coffee shops and 2 university campuses and still nothing.
I don't have a data plan, so wifi is somewhat important to me.
Any suggestions?
A few more details.
I have a Linksys WRT54G L with the DDWRT firmware installed.
My BB has the latest OS (I think) 4.6.1.199
I don't have a data Plan on my Blackberry
I tried everything! But maybe I am overlooking some option. Please help!!
without delving too deep into the realms of routers etc, it may be simply that yuor hardware is defective (in my opinion the BB if all other devices are working correctly) unless you have some strange set up within the router configuration?
Why not try resending service books, as there are WIFI SB's you need - though Im not sure you can do this without a data plan.
Also downgrading/upgrading might be worth a try, but to make sure your efforts can be benchmarked use an OFFICIAL OS as opposed to a leaked one... just in case...
another solution may be that your router (although based on your tests I dont think so) needs a little kick..? try resetting it or at least rebooting it...
Thanks for the reply. I am going to try upgrading/downgrading.
The guy I bought it from said it works fine, I just called him again, and he said he had no problems with it...I did wipe all the information on the BB first thing I got it. Does that have anything to do with the Wifi??
Unlocking has no effect on your device. There are a couple guides to help you set up your router. I have the same router and have a good signal throughout my house so you should be able to get a good connection.
And here's a link to the wifi setup guide. Also, TMo's blackberry department has a router department if you need more help - call and ask for it by name - router department. Good luck! http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/comp...ifi-how-47229/

i had a problem with 8320 where it lost wifi for about 2-3 weeks. it would not get any signal just like you described it.
i reset all settings and did a battery pull.
it fixed the problem.
