Hi, I intend to travel to Paris next week and would like to use my Bold 9780. I would like to take advantage of the free WiFi hotshots in the city. My question is , can I still use the hotshots without a mobile network present? at home I am not able to use the Internet using my home WiFi, if I turn off the mobile network. Thanks. Jeff
Well basically you can but, from my experience using it without a data plan, sometimes you will lose the signal..
Any way, you can also unlock your Blackberry and get a Prepaid SIM card while you there, i think that you can find there carriers that offer Data on Prepaid SIM cards so you can update the service books on your unlocked Blackberry and use a pre-paid data plan and a local phone number that also will be cheap to use for local calls...
