Is there anyway in which I can download and see BB or Google maps on my Pearl 8120 without having to get into very expensive monthly contracts (maybe having them copied on the phone or memory card) ?
No. BBMaps and Google Maps both download their maps in real time, using a data plan. There's no way to load them to a media card. That also means they don't work in areas where you have no cell signal. TrekBuddy was designed to use maps on a media card, to get around the lack of signal limitation. You might look at it.
