    I currently own a pearl, if I were to purchase another type of BB would it be as simple as switching out the sim card in order to use either one?

    I would think so. I swapped the sim card from my old motorola into my pearl without any problems.

    I do this all the time between my 8100 and 8310.
    The phone number will carry over to the new device,
    but to get my email I always log onto the BIS site and
    change my device info.
