Use Torch 9800 over wi-fi ony (no network)

I have recently upgraded phones and am left with my 9800 and a wi-fi Playbook. I want to continue to use BBM over wi-fi only without a mobile network by bridging to the 9800, but since I upgraded BBM, Facebook, Twitter etc will not work on the device over wi-fi. Is there a way to fix this?

Nope, no sim with active BIS, no BBM, Facebook or Twitter etc

well you can use twitter and facebook via wifi on the playbook. withvoice calls over bbm via wifi in beta for handsets, it is possible to envision bbm being used over wi fi in BB10 and thus it may be an option for the playbook i.e. bbm over wi fi. not sure about thag at all but as I sais FB and Twitter can be used onPB over wifi now.
