i always heard that there was a $50 deductable the 1st time you use it, but when i had to use it (on another carrier) i found out it was based on the value of the phone...wound up being $95. the phone has a year warranty so anytime within a year it will be replaced due to manufacturer defects, but if you drop it in water you're screwed, so i suggest you get it, especially if you're on the road alot like you say.

Verizon is $50 each time but you can't exceed 2 claims a year, I believe.

I enjoy my Storm very much! I am a first time BB user and very pleased with my choice. I had very little to no problems with it while it ran .75; however, I decided to upgrade the OS to .122 and it does seem smoother and much nicer BB. The upgrade (leak) was free and painless to do. Hope this helps.

Storm has gotten busted up on reviews... if you really want one wait for the rumored storm 2. Or be happy now and get the Curve. Reliable right out of the box... Boom.

IMHO the Curve is more dependable 4 me. One of the best keyboards I've used. I work at a Corporate Cell Store and most of my female customers do better with the all touchscreen phone than my male customers. Most of our fingers are too big.
