probably a stupid question, but it'll bug me until i know, is there anyway to upgrade the bluetooth? 'cuz i have a 7290, and i wanna be able to do more...
If there is a newer OS than you have installed, it may include a newer bluetooth. You won't be able to upgrade the Bluetooth apart from an OS upgrade. What OS version are you running? For what it's worth, the Bluetooth on my previous 7250 worked far better than the bluetooth on my current 8830, so even if you find an OS upgrade, there's no guarantee it will be an improvement.
