I have had a Curve 8530 for two years and I am due for a free upgrade in September ...other than the usual BB problems like freezing or rebooting and a slow browser , I have loved my Curve ..... so if I choose to go with the Torch 9810 will I be satisfied with much improved performance than I have now .... thanks

Isnt the 8530 like OS 5?

if so, going to the Torch 9810 with OS 7 will be a HUGE upgrade for the better!!

Its really like night and day.

I dont own a Torch but I've great things. Many people also say that the keyboard is cramped but it depends on the user.

I currently have the Bold 9930 and I LOVE IT!

I upgraded from an OS 5 8900 Curve ( it was so slow, and had a horrible web browser) and and Im so glad I did. I cant even imagine using my old 8900 again.

If you upgrade is in September, might as well wait till BB10 Is out.

Some say all screen some say both. May guess is by the time your do for an upgrade there will be more info on what BB10 would look like.

Battery life would not be as good, BUT otherwise it would be better in all respects. And the battery life on the OS 7 devices is not bad, just not as good as prior generations. Also the larger screen would use the battery quicker.

has there been any problems with the slider on the 9810 ... would it be covered with the monthly premium service plan ( in Canada with Bell)

I upgraded from the 9800 to the 9810. Much better than the 9800. Much much better than 8530

I had no problems with the 9800 slider and so far no problems with the slider on the 9810.

    It's a 3G+ phone that uses the 4G network

you'll no doubt be satisfied with the upgrade to os7 from os5. like someone mentioned above, the battery life wont be as good for obvious reasons but not terrible either.

If you're considering the 9810, you will be pleasantly surprised, and it's a big step uo from your curve. I have one, as well as a 9800, and have used a 9700 prior to that. The 9810 is the best phone, as I like the larger screen and the slider keyboard. No problems with either slider model.

I would vote for Torch 9810. Memory can be upgraded up to 32 GB. Resolution is good. Internet also works good on this gadget.

I say don't even worry about OS 7 right now. Wait and see what BB10 is then make the decision. Either way you will either end up with fancy BB10 or a dirt cheap OS 7.
