upgrade from a 9550 to a 9330?? help!!
hello forum. just as the title says, I'm thinking of going from a 9550 storm 2 on verizon to a 9330 curve. thoughts? I don't have a very large budget on this and the curve seems like a lot of bang for the buck. I had a curve 9310(?) on boost mobile before and loved it. I just miss having an old fashioned physical qwerty...is the 9330 (50 bucks on amazon) a good bet...or is there another model I should be checking into?

Honestly, any BlackBerry that gets you off that Storm is just fine. Do yourself a favor and get the QWERTY.
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.

would you say even the 8830WE would be a worthy "upgrade?" even though id be losing wifi and my beloved bridge functionality?

No. Don't get the 8830WE. It's too old and you will be frustrated. Get a modern model.

If that 8830 had wifi and bridge, along with more onboard memory, it would be a solid contender. That was one of the best BlackBerry devices that I have used. The keyboard on that phone was amazing, and is only second to the 9930 that I am currently using.
Current device: White Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB
BlackBerry history:
Verizon: 8130, 8830, 8330, 9630, 9530, 9550, 9650, 9930
AT&T: 9700, 9800

9330 is a great phone, plus I would also recommend a 9650 which you can find fairly inexpensively in the after market. And of course the 9930, but those are still up there cost wise even in the after market, BUT once and a while you can find a deal.

If you're getting a 9330, and you don't consume a whole lot of data besides social networks and BBM, check out Verizon's social plan. $10 for 75mb of data.

That's why I didn't say anything about browsing or email in my half line description
It's not a full BIS plan for sure, but works for a lot of people (especially the younger crowd)
That being said, I just noticed the OP has a PB and mentioned bridging to it. A social plan would obviously not be a good choice for that.Sent from my jail cell using a corrupt prison warden - 11-20-2012, 02:50 PM

thanks for the feedback, people! keep it coming. and the social plan is definitely not for me. I agree however that if you're not utilizing the awesome email capabilities, you're missing the whole point of blackberry. and if you are younger, you'd be better served with a sidekick on a similar type of plan
save the blackberries for the big boys (and girls)

If you aren't in contract, and have good Sprint coverage in your area, you could go with Boost's 9310, or stick with Verizon and get any 7 device subsidized.
