anyone have any idea how to upgrade my OS 4.3 to 4.5 or >! thanks.

Best method I have used:

Back up berry
Back up apps
Wipe berry
Download and install new OS
Restore from backup
Restore apps
Reset

There is a thread detailing the process. I believe it is stickied under How to's.

You can update from this online link:

BlackBerry - BlackBerry Device Software

Click on the update now button.

It will upgrade your Pearl to the latest official Alltel 4.5 OS. Make sure you have a high speed internet connection and set aside 3+ hours for this upgrade process.

There are faster ways to do the update, but this is the easiest way to do it.

should i do it from my phone or the computer? i have never linked my phone to my computer before.

From your computer. You will need your phone during the process and your computer as well. The wireless upgrade option, at this point anyway, is still a NOGO.
