you don't need @home.
UMA on any wireless network will make/receive calls, emails, browse...ect.
Anything you can do on EDGE network, you can do on UMA.
Only thing the @home does, is your minutes are not pulled from your monthly bucket, instead unlimited while on @home.
Just get the phone, connect on to the wireless network and you good to go.
i heard that if u dont have unlimited hotspot calling when u use UMA at home or wherever, when you call long distance with UMA, the minutes are pulled from your regular local voice minutes...is this true?
and what if i can unlimited evening and weekends and i use UMA during this time, so i wont get charged right?
You heard right. If your phone supports UMA, it will make UMA calls over available Wifi networks. Even UMA calls will burn whenever/off-peak minutes unless you have TMo's unlimited HotSpot calling option.
