I'll had problems using UMA over Orange since it was started a month or so ago. However today I noticed the Wi-fi simbol was black (normally grey) so I looked at my settings and noticed B.I.S. was coming in over Wi-Fi (1st time ever) so I switched mobile settings to Wi-Fi perferred (UMA) and so far I've been able to send emails and make calls with no problems. Before e-mails never sent and phone calls where hit and miss.
Also Orange have changed the 6mb data plan to unlimited (250mb capped) so maybe Orange have had a bit of a sort out, I don't know. But call them and get upgraded (still �6 per month)
I had this same problem. I eventually figured out that I needed to make my router visible (i.e. broadcasting your SSID) because the curve seems to lake the ability to find hidden routers. I could be wrong but this solution worked for me. Plus I live in the US and use tmobile so mabye it's not the same.
