    Usually it can be found within the application itself that you are using... If not then you can't disable it

    Where are you talking about?
    BBM? WhatsApp? If that it what you are talking about, you can't and have never been able to.
    WhatsApp does exactly the same on iOS

    Set your status as "Is typing a Message" that way people will never know when it switches between your status and the actual typing so in essence gets rid of its function

    Done that before lol, but...

    That only works if the person you're chatting with is in the conversation chat. If that person went to the chat list section, they can still see that "is typing a message" of who they talking to. Does that make sense?

    Compose your missives in a separate text editor. Cut and paste them into your messaging app when you are ready to send.

    Some text editors/OS/messaging app combos allow you to post directly from the editor.

    Yours isn't one of them.
